NEW YORK — P&G Prestige Products Inc. has appointed Sumit Bhasin director of global research and development and innovation.
His new duties include fragrance creation, development and packaging innovation in the luxury, premium and lifestyle categories of the firm's global prestige products unit, under which the Cosmopolitan Cosmetics and Procter & Gamble fine fragrance businesses were combined.
Bhasin started his career in the health care division of P&G, and subsequently worked in many of the consumer products giant's divisions, including beauty care, where he spent the last decade.
For six of the last 10 years, he was dedicated to establishing prestige beauty and beauty care perfume development capabilities, working on brands such as Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Valentino, Yohji Yamamoto, Laura Biagotti and Jean Patou. He also helped to develop fragrances for brands such as Old Spice, Pantene, Olay and Camay.
