NEW YORK — Polo Ralph Lauren signed Wimbledon champion and commentator Boris Becker as its official brand ambassador for the 121st Wimbledon Championships. Becker will wear Ralph Lauren throughout the duration of the venerable tennis tournament, which starts June 25.

On June 20 Becker will co-host a Wimbledon party at the Polo Ralph Lauren's London flagship store at 1 New Bond Street. He will also appear at the launch of a new Interactive Shopping Experience at the flagship in late June.

Last year Polo Ralph Lauren became the first external brand ever invited to design official on-court tournament attire for Wimbledon, which is famous for its strict club rules. Players, for example, must wear all white. These genteel traditions make Wimbledon stand out from the other Grand Slam tournaments.

For its second year as official outfitter, Polo Ralph Lauren will provide uniforms for all on-court officials, including chair umpires, line judges and ball boys/girls. It will also relaunch a tennis-inspired sportswear line called Wimbledon Collection.
