CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Belk Inc. named seven executive vice presidents, in moves related to the consolidation of the company’s merchandising and marketing functions into a new Charlotte-based organization set for implementation this fall.
Named executive vice presidents and continuing as general merchandise managers are:
l Jon Pollack, center core (cosmetics, accessories and shoes). He joined Belk in 1985 and was senior vice president.
l Mike Sholtis, feminine apparel. He joined Belk in 1998 as senior vice president.
l David Zant, men’s and home. He joined Belk in 2001 as president of the Belk Inc. Central Division based in Charlotte.
Also named executive vice president are:
l Paul Thum Suden, private brands. He joined Belk in 2001 as senior vice president.
l Amy Wooden, merchandise planning and allocation, a new position. Wooden is a former director of merchandise planning and allocation for The Limited and most recently was vice president of logistics and allocation for Service Merchandise.
l Jim Harvey, operations. Harvey joined Belk in 1995 as vice president of operations and was promoted to senior vice president in 1997.
l Steve Pernotto, human resources. He joined Belk in 1994 as vice president of human resources and was promoted to senior vice president in 1997.
Pollack, Sholtis, Zant and Thum Suden report to Mary Delk, president of merchandising and marketing since May.
In other appointments, Larry Stuart was named senior vice president, marketing, also reporting to Delk. He joined Belk in 2000 as vice president of sales promotion for the Belk Inc. Northern Division in Raleigh, N.C.
Ron Shealy was named senior vice president, allocation. Shealy joined Belk in 1976 and was senior vice president and general merchandise manager of the Belk Western Division in Greenville, S.C.
Ed Record has joined Belk as senior vice president and controller. Record was vice president of finance and controller for Filene’s.
