NEW YORK -- Bergdorf Goodman will celebrate the opening of its Richard Tyler signature collection boutique Tuesday evening, with a party that will transform much of the third-floor designer sportswear space into a setting of small vignettes of Tyler's spring line.The collection, which had been displayed on the third floor in a 200-square-foot area which is adjacent to the Jil Sander shop, will now be housed in its own 520-square-foot boutique. That space currently features Comme des Garcons and Romeo Gigli, both of which will be moved elsewhere on the floor. The Tyler shop will be decorated in "a clean but eclectic style," said a spokeswoman for Bergdorf's spokeswoman, with a mix of modern and antique furniture. About 250 guests have been invited to the party, which is being held from 7 to 9 p.m. and is co-sponsored by Vanity Fair magazine. Following the event, Burt Tansky, Bergdorf's chairman and chief executive officer, and E. Graydon Carter, editor of Vanity Fair, will host a small dinner for Tyler at Le Colonial, an East Side restaurant.
