NEW YORK — After 23 years at Saks Fifth Avenue, Betty Chabot, senior vice president of marketing, will leave the company on July 23.
“This is something I’ve been thinking about for quite some time,” Chabot said Monday. “I’m actually talking to some folks about projects and consulting work, and we’ll see where it will lead.”
Chabot joined the store not long after she graduated from college. She started as an assistant to the senior vice president of marketing, rose to advertising manager, director of advertising, assistant to then-fashion director Ellin Saltzman, vice president of marketing, and eventually her current post.
Chabot has been reporting to Sheri Wilson-Gray, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, and has been responsible for media, advertising, direct marketing, and sales promotion. A successor was not named.

For the holidays, @Burberry partnered with 20-year-old artist @blondeymccoy on a series of three outdoor murals in downtown Manhattan. The murals are McCoy’s interpretation of a Christmas eve party, the idea of charity and the spirit of family. His third mural, pictured here, is the most personal. In a partnership between the @metopera and the @englishnationalopera, “Marnie” was born. The opera, with costumes sponsored by @mrporterlive, is an adaptation of the 1961 thriller by Winston Graham.
