NEW YORK — Chanel racked up big numbers with a trunk show at Bergdorf Goodman this week, with a projected total of $1.5 million in sales in 2 1/2 days.

The fall collection was launched Tuesday for a group of key Chanel customers, and sales continued through Thursday.

Ellin Saltzman, senior vice president and fashion director of Bergdorf’s, said at midday Thursday that a number of pieces were topping the bestseller list, and that suits were particularly strong.

Among them, a long cardigan and tulip skirt in tweed, at $2,860, had sold over 10 units by noon Thursday; a black whipcord suit with a camellia detail on the jacket, at $2,860, sold more than 15, and the black camellia pantsuit sold more than 10 at $3,300.

A dress and jacket ensemble in navy tweed had sold about 10 at $4,350, a short jacket and vest in cream and black sold 15 at $3,600, and a silver Lurex metallic jacket sold about 15 at $2,370. A black crepe dress with a flippy skirt sold more than 15 units at $2,305.
