According to press reports, police recovered a body out of the Seine River on Thursday that could be that of Niane, 47, who disappeared after friends dropped her off at her houseboat late in the evening on Feb. 1.
Investigators have been searching for the former model’s body ever since. Her handbag was recovered near her houseboat after she disappeared.
Niane was a favorite with Saint Laurent and Christian Lacroix in the Eighties. She launched a short-lived fashion line in the Nineties, with friends Naomi Campbell and Carla Bruni modeling her styles on the runway.
