NEW YORK — Denim has taken on many guises over the years, and this fall, it often appears as a suit with touches of Forties glamour. Fitted jackets with nipped-in waists, straight slim skirts and peplums give it that era’s feel. Here, the Brooklyn band Whatever It Takes re-creates Forties boogie-woogie act The Andrews Sisters. Band member Melissa Burns wears a Blujeanious cotton and Lycra denim jacket and skirt with Anya Hindmarch suede gloves. For more on the styles and the band, see pages 4 and 5.
