NEW YORK — Brian Burdine, vice president and creative director at Brooks Bros., has resigned, and his last day is Friday.

Burdine said it was an “amicable separation” and he is leaving to pursue new opportunities, but he declined to say what they are since details are still being determined. A Brooks spokesman said a successor for Burdine will be in place shortly, but she declined to give further information.

Brooks Bros., now owned by Retail Brand Alliance, is in the midst of upgrading its merchandise and centralizing certain back-office functions. In addition, the marketing offices, now located above the flagship on Fifth Avenue, are moving to the company’s headquarters at 346 Madison Avenue. Mark Friedman, the chief marketing officer, left the firm this year and has not yet been replaced.
