The Tommy girl got a little more oomph in her makeup look this season, thanks to MAC Cosmetics artist Lisa Butler. Keeping with a natural, easy motif, Butler created a matte face with foundation and mineral powder, then dusted on a pinky rose-peach blush called Dainty for a hint of healthy color. The focus and inspiration for the look was a bright, ultramarine blue shadow, part of an as-yet-unnamed fall 2008 Baked Mineralize duo, which she mixed with a black shadow and then drew on as a straight line on the upper lash line. The look was completed with a soft coral lipstick, Costa Chic, that was rubbed into lips to make the blue liner really pop.
Said Butler of the look, “It’s a cross between chic American lady and funky singer. It’s very cool and different, but it [the application] has to be immaculate and neat, otherwise it would be a completely different feel.”
Stylist Didier Malige opted to keep hair simple yet gorgeous with loose natural waves he defined as “a bit like a Fifties movie star but more natural and relaxed.” Using Frédéric Fekkai Coiff Bouffant Lifting and Texturizing Spray Gel, hair was left parted naturally then curled with an iron and pinned for a spell to set the waves.
