Perry Ellis International has tapped Anita D. Britt as chief financial officer, effective March 2. The post has been filled on an interim basis by Thomas D’Ambrosio since June 2007, when former cfo George Pita exited the Miami-based company. D’Ambrosio will return to his role as senior vice president and corporate controller.
Britt joins PEI from Urban Brands Inc., where she has served as executive vice president and cfo since 2006. Urban Brands operates the Ashley Stewart and Marianne chains of plus-size stores targeted at African-American and Latina women, respectively. Prior to that, Britt spent over 12 years at Jones Apparel Group in finance and investor relations, leaving as executive vice president of finance.
“We are pleased to welcome Anita Britt to the Perry Ellis International family and are very excited about the wealth of experience and leadership that she will add to our management team,” said George Feldenkreis, chairman and ceo of PEI, in a statement.
