LONDON — The Central Saint Martins annual BA fashion show featured designs from 40 fashion students studying women’s wear, men’s wear, print, knitwear and fashion design and marketing. This year’s show was dedicated to the late MA course director Louise Wilson, who died earlier this month.
The student collections ranged from the very wearable to the very wacky, with Gracie Wales-Bonner, a 23-year-old fashion design and marketing student, winning the L’Oréal Professionnel Talent Award and its 1,500 British pound, or $2,500, prize. Her men’s wear collection had a very feminine vibe, blending Nigerian influences with Seventies glamour; a standout look was a dusty pink mohair suit with cropped jacket and high-waisted pants.
