NEW YORK -- Frederic C. McCabe Jr. has been named chief executive officer of Eileen Fisher, a manufacturer and retailer of contemporary sportswear. It is a new post.
McCabe, who will be based in New York, will be responsible for the direction and operation of Fisher's manufacturing, wholesaling and retail business. The firm's 1993 sales totaled $25 million.
The 46-year-old McCabe, who reports to Eileen Fisher, president and designer, had been working with the company as a consultant in those areas since last May. Before starting his consultancy, he was general manager of Northeast Cooperatives, a wholesale grocer based in Brattleboro, Vt.
