NEW YORK -- All 900 of the $1,000 tickets have been sold for the Council of Fashion Designers of America dinner and annual awards presentation tonight at Lincoln Center.
This year's dinner is accommodating 100 people more than last year's at $100 more a ticket. Another 1,600 tickets are sold for the awards presentation, dessert and disco that round out the night. They are priced at $300 and $150. The expected sellout includes 500 student seats, which, as reported, were sponsored by Tommy Hilfiger.
Additions to the list of presenters include singer K.D. Lang, who will present Richard Tyler his Perry Ellis Award for new fashion talent in women's wear. Holly Brubeck, style editor of The New York Times Magazine, will present the International Award to Prada. Columnist Liz Smith will give the Eugenia Sheppard Award, which honors members of the fashion media, to Bill Cunningham, photographer for the Times, and Liz Tilberis, editor in chief of Harper's Bazaar, will present a special award to Fabien Baron, art director at Harper's Bazaar.
Stan Herman, CFDA president, said more CFDA member designers than ever -- about 75 -- are expected to attend.
Alberta Ferretti's "Rainbow Week" sweaters are back. The designer closed her #MFW show with a few day-of-the-week sweaters, which first debuted on the catwalk last January as part of the pre-fall 2017 collection. #wwdfashion (📷: @delphineachard)
