NEW YORK — Chanel Inc. has named Franck Marilly as senior vice president, wholesale, effective Sept. 2. He will relocate here from Paris.

Marilly, who succeeds Dominic De Vetta, was most recently general manager for fragrance and beauty at Chanel in France and oversaw areas such as advertising, marketing, media, public relations and sales administration. He joined Chanel in 2001 as general manager for the company’s Italian affiliate.

Before Chanel, he was president of Unilever’s fragrance and beauty divisions in France, and general manager of the company’s Belgium office. Prior to that, he was general manager for Ungaro in the U.K. and Ireland.

In his new role, Marilly will be in charge of wholesale areas such as sales, marketing and distribution for the French fashion house’s ready-to-wear and accessories, including eyewear and footwear.

Marilly will report to Barbara Cirkva, Chanel Inc.’s division president for fashion, watches and fine jewelry.
