Christopher Kane’s men’s offerings for fall, which he will be showing by appointment in Paris this season, vibrated with color, pattern and lots of visual tricks. Geometric trompe l’oeil designs popped throughout the lineup — from jacquard weaves on tailored trousers to devoré block patterns on T-shirts. “The boys love a strong theme, strong color and decoration,” he said during a walk-through at his east London studio. “The patterns are cubic, broken-up geometrics and chevron.”
Trousers were done in tone-on-tone micro-check jacquards and harlequin-like diamond patterns, cashmere intarsia knits were adorned with pyramid shapes and block patterns, and cotton Ts looked as though they were covered in bits of glass and mosaic tiles. Kane put a cool spin on the classic duffle as well, swapping traditional toggles for his signature safety buckles. He also wholeheartedly embraced accessories, offering up his biggest collection yet, including leather gloves, bags, backpacks and a series of scarves, all of which bear dashes of geometric flair.
