NEW YORK -- Betsy Takacs has been named senior vice president of human resources at Liz Claiborne Inc., effective April 20.
She will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources and the Liz Claiborne Foundation, which is the charitable arm of the company. Takacs will report to Harvey Falk, vice chairman and president of Claiborne.
Takacs replaces Kathyrn Conners, who left Liz Claiborne in July 1993 to join The Leslie Fay Cos. as its general counsel, corporate affairs, and vice president of human resources.
Takacs was with the Waccamaw Corp. a Myrtle Beach, S.C.-based specialty chain that sells moderate-price furniture, housewares and linens, where she was senior vice president of human resources since March 1993 until this month. Previously, she spent 18 years with the May Department Stores Co., most recently as senior vice president of stores in the Ohio region.
