BEAVERTON, Ore. — Nike Inc. said Dr. Thomas E. Clarke, general manager of the Nike brand, has been named president and chief operating officer of the company. Clarke replaces Richard K. Donahue, who becomes vice chairman, a new position.
The transition will take place on June 1.
Nike also said the company has created a fourth international region to cover Eastern Europe, India and Africa. The new division will be based in Vienna and will be headed by David Edward, formerly vice president and general manager for Nike’s European operations.
Martin Coles, who had been director of European operations, will take over Edward’s responsibilities in Europe.
