NEW YORK -- Susan Clatworthy has joined The Donna Karan Cos. as vice president of sales and marketing for DKNY clothing, jeans and petites.

Succeeding Elissa Bromer, who left DKNY in December, Clatworthy most recently was the executive director of merchandising for Chanel Boutiques, a post she held for 2 1/2 years. Prior to that Clatworthy was at Bloomingdale's from 1977 to 1991, and was the divisional merchandise manager for bridge sportswear upon her departure.

At DKNY, Clatworthy reports directly to Denise Seegal, president. The national sales managers for the three DKNY divisions and the head of the merchandising coordinator program report to Clatworthy.

"She's a great choice for us because she has a balanced background of retail and was responsible for making Bloomingdale's the premier retailer of DKNY, helping us launch it there in 1989," said Stephen Ruzow, president of The Donna Karan Cos.
