NEW YORK — Lydia Gollner has been promoted to president of Kenneth Cole women’s sportswear, a licensed division of Liz Claiborne Inc.
She succeeds Glenn McMahon, who has been appointed president of the newly acquired Ellen Tracy division. Gollner is responsible for overseeing all product development, manufacturing, distribution and sales for the two-year-old Kenneth Cole women’s sportswear unit.
"The line is already growing at a steady, healthy rate," Gollner said. "I plan to continue that and we are projecting to reach our plan. Also, we hope to broaden distribution in specialty stores, while developing our relationships with our current department stores."
Gollner had been vice president of sales and merchandising for the Kenneth Cole women’s division. Joining Liz Claiborne from CK Calvin Klein, where she was a vice president, Gollner also spent five years in Claiborne’s Dana Buchman division as national sales manager. Gollner reports to Angela Ahrendts, executive vice president of Liz Claiborne.
"Lydia has been an instrumental part of the Kenneth Cole women’s sportswear team from the start and a major contributor to the success we are experiencing with this line," Ahrendts said. "She is an exceptional merchant with a strong background in contemporary-better sportswear and has solid relationships with the retail community."
