The publishing company Monday announced several appointments to its budding Bridal Division, which will be formed when it completes the acquisition of Modern Bride and Modern Bride Connections from Primedia at the end of this month. The new Bridal Division consists of Brides and Modern Bride, which will be published on alternate months, and the regional magazines, Modern Bride Connections.
Nina Lawrence, publisher of Brides, has been named vice president and publisher of Conde Nast’s Bridal Division’s national magazines. Lawrence has been publisher of Bride’s since November, 1999. From 1996 to 1998, she was publisher of Modern Bride. She reports to Peter Hunsinger, president of the Bridal Division.
In related moves, Robyn Borok, vice president and publisher of Modern Bride, was named executive director of the bridal division’s national magazines. Elizabeth Nann, associate publisher of Brides, was named associate publisher of the bridal division’s national magazines.
Margery Gladstone, president of Modern Bride, won’t be joining the new operation. She said she is staying with Primedia, which expects to announce her new post later this week.
Steve Portnoy, currently vice president and publisher of Modern Bride Connections, will continue to serve in that role. In 1986, he co-founded this regional wedding magazine business that was purchased by Primedia 10 years later. He reports to Hunsinger.
Cerene Jordan was named director of finance and business operations for the bridal division. Most recently she was director of finance and business operations at Brides. Earlier, she was controller for Primedia’s consumer magazines, including Modern Bride.
Both Portnoy and Jordan report to Hunsinger.
