NEW YORK — Coolwear has gone to the cats.

While Warner Bros. Pictures is preparing for its big summer movie, “Catwoman,” to hit theaters in June, Coolwear has prepared a line of junior knits to support the film. Warner Bros. Consumer Products has signed a licensing agreement with the 19-year-old junior sportswear company to create two lines to appeal to the 13- to 24-year-old customer.

The younger line, which aims to appeal to the 13- to 17-year-old girl, consists of bright color graphic Ts and tanks, while the more mature collection, aimed at 18- to 24-year-olds, includes cotton and acrylic off-the-shoulder sweats and hoodies with a flocked Catwoman logo printed on the front.

The film, which stars Halle Berry as the feline avenger, is the story of a shy, sensitive artist who finds herself in the middle of a corporate conspiracy. In a twist of fate, she is transformed into a woman with the strength, speed and senses of a cat. Coolwear’s design team were allowed on set during the filming of the movie.

The Catwoman line of knits will hit Federated and May Department Stores in time for the release of the film. The collection wholesales for $7 to $10.
