NEW YORK — There’s more to the spring season in New York than ultra-racy clothes. In fact, there’s a strong trend in precisely the opposite direction — toward pretty, charming looks that are genteel with a retro touch. The beautiful collection Carolina Herrera showed on Monday exemplifies the best of this theme. Highlights included such easy-yet-elegant styles as a simple tank worn with a long printed skirt and a vivid yellow tango dress. Here, another of Herrera’s great ideas: a halter top in woven crocodile strips. For more on the shows, see our review coverage:"I Feel Pretty","Sweetness and Light" and "Revival Show".
