NEW YORK — Brad Cunningham has resigned from Express to join Rampage as general merchandise manager, sources told WWD on Thursday. Cunningham was merchandise manager of wovens.

Cunningham could also carry the title of executive vice president or senior vice president. There was no information from Rampage on the Cunningham report as of press time.

Rampage parent Charlotte Russe Holdings has been remaking its senior merchant ranks to improve its sagging performance. Recently, Harriette Sustarcik, the president and chief merchandising officer overseeing both the Rampage and Charlotte Russe divisions, left the company. Donna Desrosiers was recruited to the new post of executive vice president and general merchandising manager for the CR chain. Desrosiers previously was general merchandise manager at two Canadian junior retailers, Ricki’s, a division of Comark/ARG, and Suzy Shier Inc., a specialty retailer with over 240 locations.

Cunningham had been at Express for about three years. Before Express, he was a merchandiser at Guess in men’s, women’s, boys and kids. His career started at Robinsons-May.

CR, which operates about 300 stores under the Charlotte Russe and Rampage nameplates, reported that profits during the 13 weeks ended June 28 fell 50.8 percent to $2.8 million. Sales rose 5.1 percent to $107.2 million. from $102 million, but sagged 16.1 percent on a comparable-store basis.
