A lot of action is set to take place at the first CurveNV trade fair in Las Vegas scheduled for Feb. 13 to 15.
Seventy-two leading innerwear brands are to exhibit their fall-winter 2007 collections for women and men in 25,000 square feet of the Grand Ballroom of the Venetian Resort Hotel.
The CurveNV fair was conceived by industry specialists Laurence and Jean-Luc Teinturier, a husband-and-wife team who have worked with a variety of trade venues, including Lingerie Americas in New York.
The brands will represent domestic and international names, as well as all major innerwear categories, including foundations, daywear, sleepwear, at-homewear, robes, shapewear, maternity wear, plus sizes and hosiery. There also will be a compact contingent of men's underwear and loungewear.
Among the top brands will be: Wacoal, DKNY Underwear, Donna Karan Intimates, Hanro, Le Mystère and La Perla Group, as well as designer labels such as Princesse Tam Tam, Only Hearts and Hanky Panky. In addition, there will be up-and-coming brands like Ritratti, Jacalyn Bennett, Lavit and Chiari. La Perla's presence will be represented by La Perla Black Label, Joelle, Malizia by La Perla and Occhi Verdi. The foundations and daywear category will feature Montelle Intimates, BB Curves, Solution Cami, La Cosa, V.P.M., V.I.P., Va Bien, Ultra-lift, Sally Jones, Gafa and Gossard London.
Bra brands specializing in full-busted and full-figure styles will include Eveden, Prima Donna, Marie Jo, Panache, Freya, Goddess and Fantasie. Eveden will launch a brand called Fauve that is aimed at fashion-conscious, full-figured women, and Panache will offer Panache Swim with its spring-summer collections for immediate delivery.
Shapewear will be represented by Rago, Lacette by Rago, Sassybax, Afap Fashion and Squeem Magical Lingerie.
Regarding at-homewear, Zovo Lingerie, a destination specialty store in Seattle, will launch an eponymous line of versatile at-homewear that doubles as daywear. The sleepwear and at-homewear arena also will be a prominent part of the show and feature a strong lineup of brands, including Pluto, Arlotta by Chris Arlotta, Arlotta Studio, Crabtree & Evelyn, Fernando Sanchez, FS2 by Fernando Sanchez, Flora Nikrooz, Mary Green, Claire Pettibone, CPJ's, Louis Feraud, Rosch Creative Culture, Blanche Fleur, Epifania, P. James and Cool Sets, a line made with CoolBalance performance fabric.
The men's field will feature Puma Bodywear, GrigioPerla, Boss Black, Boss Orange/Hugo Boss, Giulio, Mansilk and P.jamas. La Perla and Puma will be part of the hosiery contingent, while maternity wear will include Bella Materna. There will be bridal trousseau specialists Classy Bride and Simply Charming. Intimate apparel accessories will get into the picture with Garment Guard, an adhesive against perspiration; Bra G; The Bra Bag, a traveling bag to protect the shape of a bra, and Sassynips, concealers to wear inside soft-cup bras.
Two workshops are scheduled: a fitting session for retailers presented at 11 a.m. daily by Frederika Zappe, Eveden International's sales specialist, and a seminar at 3 p.m. on Feb. 14 called "Successful Retailing by the Numbers," led by Alan Thurgood, president of Ensign Systems. The seminar's goal is to increase store efficiency and profitability, Laurence Teinturier said.
The Teinturiers will host a Champagne party at 6 p.m. on Feb. 14 for retailers, exhibitors and the media to celebrate Valentine's Day.
Show hours Feb. 13 and 14 will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 15.
"We will return to Las Vegas on Aug. 27 to 29 in 2007 to present the spring-summer 2008 collections," Laurence Teinturier said, noting that in addition to intimates a strong focus will be on swimwear and beachwear brands.
