I really like this skirt,” said Daisy Fuentes of the white pleated skirt she was wearing. “But I also like those white pants and the black top with floral embroidery. It’s hard to choose a favorite piece.” And the TV personality-turned-designer is hoping that women shopping at Kohl’s will think the same way — and buy the entire collection of contemporary basics. But if that doesn’t happen, there is plenty of product to choose from in the first delivery, which will hit 182 Kohl’s stores beginning on March 1.

“The Daisy collection has go-anywhere sensibility and easy, interchangeable pieces,” said Kevin Mansell, president of Kohl’s. “Clean lines, quality construction and feminine details further enhance the collection, bringing a fresh fashion perspective to Kohl’s.”

The line, which is designed by Fuentes and licensed and manufactured by Regatta USA, consists of contemporary-looking basic apparel items, but for women who usually buy a misses’ fit. Kohl’s will merchandise it near the Axcess and Nine & Co. lines.

“It’s an updated collection that can be worn by a broad range of women,” said Barbara Tichner, president of Regatta. “It is full of more classic items like the metro pants, which are stretch canvas, and there are fashion pieces such as canvas pants with rhinestone details at the waist.”

The line also includes basic tanks and T-shirts as well as satin cargo pants and drawstring khakis. It retails from $16 for a basic tank to $44 for classic pants. While the first collection is only sportswear, Tichner said the company is working on sleepwear and activewear, which should be in stores by June. Shoes and other accessories will eventually be added as well.

Tonight, the company is slated to celebrate the launch of the new line at a party at Splashlight Studios on West 35th Street in Manhattan.
