NEW YORK — Danny Guez, the founder and creative director of People’s Liberation has left that company. According to a filing with the SEC, Guez left the L.A.-based company on Oct. 2.

People’s Liberation markets the People’s Liberation and William Rast labels, which both offer premium denim and contemporary sportswear for men and women. Guez founded the company in 2004 and took it public in a reverse merger in November 2005.

According to the SEC filing, Guez left the company to pursue other opportunities. Guez has agreed not to sell or dispose of any his People’s Liberation stock prior to Novermber 30, and that the company will have right of first refusal to purchase any of those shares after that date.

Guez was previously CEO of People’s Liberation, before stepping down from that position and becoming creative director and co-chairman this past June.
