PARIS — French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac’s colorful, offbeat style has won him a suitor.
On Tuesday, U.K. clothing manufacturer Marchpole Holdings plc said it had acquired de Castelbajac’s fashion house, with immediate plans to broaden distribution of his women’s and men’s collections in Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Japan and South Korea. Terms were not disclosed, but Marchpole said the brand’s wholesale volume in those regions totals about $12.4 million, or 10 million euros.
