NEW YORK -- Saks Fifth Avenue and Oscar de la Renta teamed up for a trunk show that generated more than $300,000 in fall orders in Beverly Hills last week.
A luncheon for 400 kicked off the event at the Regent Beverly Wilshire on May 23, benefiting Blue Ribbon, an organization that helps the Los Angeles Music Center.
After the luncheon, de la Renta visited the designer salon at the Saks store on Wilshire Boulevard, chatting with about 100 customers for an hour. The trunk show continued through last Thursday.
Bestsellers included a black lace dress, at $3,500, which sold 15 units; a black silk dress at $1,950, 12 units sold; a black suit with faux fur trim, at $3,500, 10 units sold, and a red two-piece double-faced gabardine suit at $2,300, nine units sold.
