After numerous collaborations with Régine Chopinot, Jean Paul Gaultier tapped Emio Greco to choreograph a performance for his spring collection, transforming his headquarters’ runway into a mirrored dance studio. The high-energy trio of Victor Callens, Marie Sinnaeve and Suzan Tunca opened the show as they lunged, leaped and twirled along the catwalk, making way for Coco Rocha, who replaced her usual Highland jigs with a graceful ballerina stretch.

After almost 15 years away from the dance world, Gaultier was inspired by working with choreographer Angelin Preljocaj and by Popopera, a modern ballet he saw in Avignon, France, by Greco and Pieter Scholten. The dance-crazy designer’s spring collection featured the likes of ballet-inspired shoes with ribbon ties, fluid body wraps and leotards attached to billowing jersey capes.
