NEW YORK — Delta has touched down in Henri Bendel's Fifth Avenue store with airport-inspired window displays, in-store activities and special events designed to show off the airline's international expansion.
"Delta Jet-Set Summer" runs through June 26 and includes a main-floor Delta-brand boutique packed with Delta apparel by JunkFood Clothing. Passersby are getting a glimpse of what's inside by the fake Delta ticket counter signs in the store windows. "Grey's Anatomy" star Justin Chambers, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Chloë Sevigny will headline tonight's kickoff party at the store.
Henri Bendel shoppers will have the chance to win a pair of round-trip tickets to Delta's new destinations, to check out images of the airline's newest destinations and sample services. They will also learn about must-haves for summer travelers and can pick up shopping passports, have them stamped in various departments and then redeem them for a gift bag.
Teril Turner, director of marketing for Henri Bendel, noted that the shopping passport makes the collaboration more of an experience for consumers. "It's a fun escapist moment for the summer."
Kiosks Modelco's beauty team will offer jet-set travel tips next week; Dany Levy will read from her book, "Daily Candy A-Z," on June 22, and refreshments inspired by Delta's new healthy in-flight menu and its mini Mile High Mojitos will be served when "Today" show correspondent Peter Greenberg signs copies of his new book, "The Travelers Diet: Eating Right and Staying Fit on the Road," on June 26. In total, 13 events are planned during Delta's two-week run.
