Levi’s Promotes Brockway

San Francisco-based Levi Strauss & Co. said it is promoting Anna Brockway to the new position of vice president of worldwide marketing, effective June 2.

Brockway currently serves as director of marketing for the Levi’s brand in the U.S. In her new position, her duties will expand to also include the Dockers brands and Levi’s European and Asia-Pacific divisions, according to a Levi’s spokeswoman.

She will report to executive vice president Larry Ruff.

Levi’s overseas divisions in recent years have churned out many new ideas that the company has later brought to the U.S., most notably Engineered Jeans. Not all of those products have sold well in the U.S. market and Levi’s executives have attributed that lagging performance to some instances of uncoordinated marketing support.

Some celebrities love wearing evening gowns and diamonds for the red carpet. But Diesel is hoping those attending the Cannes Film Festival, which kicks off Wednesday, might be willing to slip into something a little more comfortable. The Italian jeanswear firm hasset up shop alongside designer and makeup brands at the Carlton Intercontinental Hotel during the festival to woo stars with denim and other items from its fall/winter collection.

It isn’t forgetting the public, either. Diesel plans to open a boutique in Cannes, at 154 Rue d’Antibes, its eighth location in France. The 2,150-square-foot boutique, with a 4,300-square-foot garden, is expected to open at the end of July.
