Ellus Arrival

The Brazilian brand Ellus Jeans is bowing in the U.S. for fall retailing. The line, being represented by Showroom Seven in Manhattan, includes 23 styles of jeans in 11 washes, with an emphasis on the distinctive hip-hugging, low-rise Brazilian fit.

The line was founded in Brazil by Nelson Alverango in 1972 and extended its distribution to Europe two years ago. Wholesale prices range from $34 to $72, according to Mary Sanner, who is serving as head of sales for the brand in the U.S. She said she expects the brand to do $1 million in sales its first full year out.
