Met jeans, which bowed in the U.S. this spring with a New York office, has its first West Coast distributor. Independent representative Kathy Walker has taken on sales duties for California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii. She is based at the New Mart in Los Angeles.

Illyia Meric, president of IMC Brand Management, the North American licensee for the Italian brand, said the company initially will focus on “better distribution in key retail markets,” similar to what it did on the East Coast.

The four-year-old Met line is expected to generate about $30 million in worldwide sales this year, the company said. Meric has set revenue targets of $5 million to $7.5 million for the brand in the U.S.
