A month after VF Corp. said it was shuttering Nautica women’s apparel, Denise Seegal, president of its sportswear coalition since August 2004, is leaving the company to pursue other interests.

”We remain confident that the Nautica brand has tremendous potential, and we are committed to continuing to build the business and position it for even greater success,” said Eric C. Wiseman, VF president and chief executive officer. “We are fortunate to have in place a very strong and talented foundation of leaders and associates within the Nautica business, and I am confident in their collective ability to achieve the promise of this powerful brand.”

VF said it expects to name Seegal’s successor in the near future.
