LOS ANGELES — Serena Williams’s glow comes from many sources: the camera crews who trail her, the gleaming blonde tresses and her brand new diamonds. Williams showed up for the ESPY Awards Show rehearsal last week wearing a Chopard diamond ring and “Love” bracelet she treated herself to after trouncing her sister, Venus, at Wimbledon and the French Open. But besides bringing their sibling rivalry to the court, the sisters also compete for the best clothes in the closet. “I’m always borrowing things off Venus. Actually, these are her earrings right now,” Williams said, twisting the pavé diamond squares.

The next night, wearing a Versace gown, Serena accepted Venus’s award for “Best Female Athlete,” then made a quick change and headed to the Giorgio Armani after-party to mingle with gold medalist Sarah Hughes and hockey great Wayne Gretzsky, and to chat with Samuel L. Jackson.
