NEW YORK — Model, author and all-around personality Dianne Brill is again in the limelight — but now as a makeup maven.

New York’s self-proclaimed “Queen of the Night,” Brill spent the last three years in Europe developing Lip Lingerie, a sexy line of lipsticks, lip glosses and lip liners “too naughty to wear to the office,” she said.

Designed specifically for eveningwear, the new line is meant to satisfy the girl who wants to mark her territory. “Everybody has so many selves. The one I want to address is the evening self,” said Brill. “I designed the lip line for a woman to slip on and be kissed.”

Brill developed Lip Lingerie in tempo with a new stage in her life: fun, yet elegant and sophisticated. Her inspiration: her years of experience with modeling and design.

The 27 stockkeeping units are intended to give the lips a seductive presence. “Each product embodies glamour as well as quality,” said Brill. Twelve sensual lipstick shades are made with soothing ingredients that also have plumping and patented anti-feathering effects. Mixed with Lip Lingerie Lipstick or worn alone, the 10 lip gloss colors are packed with vitamins, antioxidants, humectants and a plumper that leave lips soft and shiny from this virtual lip treatment. The five feathery liners “complement the lipsticks and glosses as well as your curves,” said Brill.

Each product’s packaging is designed to be feminine and suggestive, reminiscent of a pleasantly wrapped present. The lipstick tubes resemble mesh seamed stockings, the lip gloss packages are designed to look like bonbons and the lip liners are packaged in pink tubes that resemble cigars.

Lip Lingerie launches in September at select prestige boutiques in the U.S. and will hit the European market in mid-2004. Projected first-year sales in the U.S. are estimated at $1.5 million, according to industry sources.

The lip line is intended to be the beginning of a bigger franchise, Brill said, adding that a perfume and body care line are in the company’s plans and that she also hopes to add similar lines for eyes and the face.
