Spring marked a return to form for young Balenciaga-trained designer Dietrich Emter, who went to the dark side last season with somber tones and literal references to Hieronymus Bosch. Emter showed a range of finely constructed feminine shapes that were ladylike without being prim. Contrasting or tone-on-tone insets and appliqués gave blouses, skirts and shorts some geometric punch. Jackets and coats were structured and collarless, with cropped sleeves that curved from the elbow. Emter also embraced a more relaxed style in loosely draped and tied dresses and gowns in flowing parachute silks.
"I think that all anyone really wants in life is to have people understand us for who we actually are, despite everything," says Ruth Negga. The actress talks "Preachers" season 2 and more on WWD.com. #wwdeye (📷: Dan Doperalski)
"That's something that resonates with me too because I'm so locked into a number. If I go over that number it completely ruins my day so it's nice to get detached from the number on the scale." - Chelsea Handler on Kelly LeVeque's book "Body Love." #wwdeye (📷: John Salangsang)
