NEW YORK -- Donna Karan Cos. will officially launch its DKNY Petites line at the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship here, with a runway show next Thursday.
A spokeswoman for DKNY said the company expects the petite division to comprise 10 percent of DKNY's overall volume for 1994 and eventually reach 30 percent.
Plans for the line were first disclosed in September, and the collection started shipping this month. The line is already on the floor at Macy's Herald Square and Bloomingdale's here.
The spring 1994 collection is comprised of 30 percent of the styles found in the DKNY misses' line. According to the spokeswoman, designer Karan scaled the fashion and proportion of the line with each piece instead of just downsizing the misses' line.
Wholesale price points for the petites range from $18 for a tank to $220 for a blazer, the same prices as the misses' collection.
