NEW YORK — The Doneger Group, based here, has bought Margit Publications, a sales agent representing fashion trend services and style-related publications to the industry.

The 20-year-old Margit represents the Pantone Textile Color System, LA Colors from Amsterdam, Paul Pelssers andother international fashion, textile and design books and magazines. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Margit Zsedely, executive vice president, will operate Margit Publications as a division of The Doneger Group, a retail and fashion merchandising consulting company at 463 Seventh Avenue.

The Doneger Creative Services division will continue to develop its own line of color and trend forecasting products in women’s, men’s and youth categories.

Doneger also said that Irma Gold, market specialist for popular-priced misses’ and petite dresses, will retire Sept. 1, after 29 years with the company. Michele Zarett, sales director for Doneger Creative Services, will succeed Gold, and report to Roseanne Cumella, senior vice president of merchandising.Michele has a background in dresses having worked at Maggy London and the dress divisions of Tahari, Ellen Tracy and Susan Bristol.

Also, Paulette Thompson has been named market specialist for moderate casual sportswear and swimwear, replacing Paula Corerri, who left the company. Thompson will report to Kathy Bradley, merchandise manager for misses’ and junior sportswear. Thompson was market specialist in junior dresses at Doneger.
