MILAN — The Donna Karan Cos. has opened its first international public relations and press office here.
While the company had maintained a sourcing and production office for corporate use, which will remain at 30 via Montebello here, international press had previously been handled through its New York offices, said Patti Cohen, vice president of public relations for Donna Karan in the New York headquarters.
Marina Luri, who had been working in the New York press office for DKNY, will be director of international public relations.
Cohen noted that Luri’s job includes all of Europe, not just Italy.
“That’s not to say we won’t have someone in Paris, or someone in London someday,” Cohen said. “But this is the beginning.”
Luri said she will have sample collections of women’s and men’s Donna Karan Collection and DKNY, as well as the accessories.
“The collections will be smaller than the ones of our New York offices, but it was too difficult to handle the samples only out of New York,” she explained.
Currently, the Donna Karan label is carried by Gio’ Moretti in Milan and Luisa Via Roma in Florence, among others.
