LYON, France — This former silk capital of Europe has never seen an event quite like the gala cocktail party, dinner and interactive fashion show staged by DuPont Textiles & Apparel, according to city’s mayor, Gerard Collombe, who co-hosted the soiree with DuPont’s president of apparel, Bill Ghitis, at the landmark town hall.

About 450 guests turned out to view DuPont’s international launch of its latest campaign, “Celebrating the Human Body,” which introduced new fiber blends and focused on four themes: Living Lights, Dynamic Curves, Fresh Balance and Cottony Pleasures.
The themes were showcased in huge semi-transparent cubicles depicting different lifestyles where models in prototype garments danced and interacted with guests.
Living Lights, which highlighted the shimmery new fiber Tactel Illuminae, was featured in a harem setting; Dynamic Curves represented pliable control garments of Easy Set Lycra spandex and Soft Comfort Lycra in a modern dance vignette; Fresh Balance showed off performance products of CoolMax and blends of Tactel, Supplex and Lycra in a cool water spa, and Cottony Pleasures focused on Easy Set Lycra and cotton garments in a fantasy garden setting.”
