With fashions frequently in conflict with traditional hosiery, women have often forsaken the control features and opted to wear no hosiery at all. Hanes Hosiery, with its new line called Body Enhancers No Hose, is aiming to put an end to that.
Launched last week with a presentation at the Bryant Park Hotel, Body Enhancers is a lightweight collection of figure-enhancing products with flexible construction and nonbinding features.
“No one wants to have panty lines, and at the same time, not everyone wants to wear a full pantyhose garment in order to achieve those end results,” said Roanne Wallace, marketing director for Hanes Hosiery.
The Body Enhancer line consists of a seamless panty, a capri hose and a midthigh panty. The anticellulite, midthigh panty features a roll-resistant waistband, a nonbinding leg band and a massaging pattern design, which shapes the thigh and reduces the appearance of cellulite. The capri, meanwhile, provides control from the waist to below the knee with an adjustable leg band, which adapts to multiple pants lengths.
The line is available in nude and black, while the panty is also available in white. It is priced from $7.95 to $12.95 retail and will be shipped to department and specialty stores this fall.
“Women have been cutting the legs off their control-top pantyhose for years to get the smoothing benefits,” said Wallace. “Now they don’t have to.”
