A robust turnout is anticipated at the third edition of the Shanghai Mode Lingerie trade fair set for Oct. 26 and 27.
In its second installment in October 2006, the number of exhibitors jumped 91 percent — to 145 from 21 countries — and exhibition space doubled to more than 48,000 square feet. So far for 2007, 150 lingerie, swimwear and beach-related apparel specialists have signed up to exhibit their products and brands.
The fair, operated by Eurovet, seeks to maintain the exclusive industry focus that makes it a destination for international lingerie, foundations and sleepwear and robe companies, as well as sourcing, design and manufacturing concerns based in China. It will feature three venues to serve those sectors:
-- Interfilière Asia, a platform of global sourcing for fibers, fabrics, embroideries, laces, accessories and trims aimed primarily at the bra, underwear and sleepwear industries. This venue is targeted to buying groups; American, European and Asian lingerie, swimwear and fitness brands, and manufacturers and brands from China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand.
-- Private Lingerie, a forum of global lingerie, swimwear and beach-related apparel brands and companies from Europe and Asia, where Asia-Pacific partnerships can be developed. It was created for Asian distributors and agents, investors, designers, major lingerie chains, boutiques, mail-order and e-commerce businesses and TV shopping networks.
Exhibitors participating in the Private Lingerie area will include Aubade, Chantal Thomass, Christian Lacroix, Daniel Hechter, John Galliano, Kenzo, Millesia, Nina Ricci, Lady de Paris, Rosy, Rosette, Jolidon, Intima Moda/Verdissima and Valery.
-- A Business Fashion Networking forum that will include directional trends, seminars and runway shows.
