PARIS — A mix of fantasy and fairy-tale elements, fall couture accessories came in a dazzling array of colors and materials. Oscar de la Renta’s pretty princesses for Balmain, for example, glittered in diamonds and colored stones from Fred Leighton, while Emanuel Ungaro took a considerably more bohemian approach, draping his models in layered, beaded necklaces and belts. Karl Lagerfeld used a different form of sparkle at Chanel, showing his looks with sequined fishnet hosiery and jeweled ankle bracelets. To top it all off, there were plenty of feather hats and headdresses, from the subtle wraps in Julien Macdonald’s Givenchy collection to the wildly dramatic numbers that turned up in John Galliano’s Christian Dior show.
