CHOO LOVE: Is the poem the new press release? Jimmy Choo turned to rhyming verse to celebrate the opening of its new concession at Harvey Nichols last week. Guests — including Elizabeth Hurley, Geri Halliwell, Mario Testino, Julien Macdonald, Jade Jagger, Jodie Kidd and Jemma Kidd— received a T-shirt with a sad little poem about an unfaithful shoe. "I think I’m in love with my shoe/I was sure that it felt the same too/’till it happened to mention/with heartless intention/’I’m dating a gold Jimmy Choo.’" The poem was penned by a friend of Jimmy Choo, co-owner and designer Tamara Mellon. "We wanted to do something quirky and fun and to make a T-shirt that women would actually wear out, rather than to bed or to the gym," said Mellon.
ROCKS AND ROLL: Although no one noticed rapper Eve sitting in the audience, the star certainly took notice of the sexy clothes Julien Macdonald showed on Saturday night. "I’ve never worn his stuff before," she said. "But I loved it. I’m definitely going to now." Eve isn’t the only music star hooked on Macdonald. Kylie Minogue, the face of the new Ford campaign, asked the designer to customize a Ford Streetka for her — and he happily obliged. It’s hot pink, painted with stars and tigers and encrusted with $1 million- worth of diamonds.
OLD HABITS DIE HARD: England’s a land full of tradition, and it appears another one has taken hold. Princess Diana and Elizabeth Hurley turned to Gianni Versace for their fanciest frocks. On Saturday, Jade Jagger wore Dolce & Gabbana to the opening of the Garrard store, and then changed into a hot Versace number for the evening’s festivities, while Sarah Ferguson chose Dolce & Gabbana for the Garrard gala. In the middle of London Fashion Week, these women were promoting the British tradition of flying the Italian flag.

The image depicts McCoy’s grandparents and father in London’s Trafalgar Square in the Seventies. “My work often features lots of sentimental objects.” #wwdeye
