A CHARMED CAVALLI: Oh, the perks of diva-dom. Mariah Carey requested that Roberto Cavalli design a special gown for the ballad section of her latest venture, The Charmbracelet Tour 2003. Carey will wear the gown at the kickoff concert of the U.S. leg of the tour in Las Vegas.

The dress is a nude sheer tulle silk that was handembroidered in Paris and features crystals, a plunging V-neck and a dramatic pink feather tail.

“I love Mariah’s feminine voice and her sweet sensibility, but I also like her diva stage persona,” said Cavalli. “That’s why I chose a soft pale pink color and ethereal feathers, but a sexy silhouette, revealing Mariah’s amazing body.”

SUMMER CAMP: George Clooney isn’t the only celebrity kicking back near Italy’s Lake Como this summer. Annie Leibovitz, Bruce Springsteen, John Malkovich and Adrien Brody were spotted there last month at Villa d’Este. But Brody was the only one who relaxed the Italian way — with his parents.

MADE IN ITALY: For her role as a writer in “Under the Tuscan Sun,” Diane Lane suits up in Piazza Sempione earth tone cashmere sweaters, classic pants and unstructured jackets. Raoul Bova helps Lane’s character ease her writer’s block and rebound from a divorce in the Touchstone Pictures’ flick, which will be released in September. The film is based on Frances Mayes’ memoir.
