ADAM DOES OPRAH: An appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" is apparently worth its weight in gold. Adam Lippes, creative director of adam+eve sportswear and underwear, said his Web site "crashed from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m." following a cameo appearance on Oprah on Thursday.
"We had 50,000 concurrent people looking online following the show," said Lippes, noting Oprah "kept on talking about how she wears my [signature] T-shirts to work, to the gym and out at night. White is her favorite color, but she's now wearing fashion colors, too."
As for the impact on business, Lippes said, "We did 50 percent of our total annual $7 million sales volume in two hours."
Lippes, who formerly served as creative director of Oscar de la Renta, said he's never been easily impressed with the plethora of celebrities he encountered at de la Renta, with the exception of Nicole Kidman.
"Oprah has this aura," he added. "She's so warm and friendly, and so extraordinarily experienced. That's very impressive. Oprah is such a star."
SO SARI: "I nearly moved to India three years ago to pursue a Bollywood career," model-turned-actress Audrey Marnay revealed last Thursday night, doing a twirl in her vintage Indian skirt. "Dance is my thing and I love Indian culture." She was certainly in the right place, as Louis Vuitton feted its new exhibition of contemporary Indian art at its gallery atop its flagship on the Champs-Elysées. But there was plenty of competition at the party, with the likes of Bollywood sex kitten Shilpa Shetty sashaying around in a bejeweled leopard crop top and flashy blue sari. "Hollywood has its own kind of glamor, but Bollywood, for me, is the future," she declared. The event also attracted members of the Indian jet set such as young designer Ameet Sikka as well as Vuitton's own New York-based VIP ambassador, Gayatri Steeg, who wore her mother's wedding sari for the occasion.
WEDDING BELLE: The Parker Bowles clan just can't keep away from the altar. On Saturday, Laura Parker Bowles became the third member of her family to wed in just over a year. The 28-year-old daughter of the Duchess of Cornwall, formerly Camilla Parker Bowles, married her longtime partner Harry Lopes, an accountant, former Calvin Klein model and grandson of the late Lord Astor of Hever. The bride, who runs Eleven, a contemporary art gallery in London's Belgravia, wore an ivory silk chiffon gown with bell sleeves designed by Robinson Valentine, the London fashion house that also created her mother's wedding outfits when she married Prince Charles in April 2005.
Laura and Harry married at St. Cyriac's Church in Witshire, England, and the ceremony was followed by a candlelit dinner for 350 guests, including Prince Charles, Prince William and girlfriend Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry. The dinner was held under a marquee at nearby Ray Mill House, which belongs to the duchess. Guests dined on a traditional English favorite, fish pie, and danced into the early hours to a Blues Brothers-style band.
The other family member to wed in the past year was Tom Parker Bowles, Laura's elder brother, who is a food writer. He married Sara Buys, fashion features editor for British Harper's Bazaar, last spring near Henley-on-Thames, England.

@Pharrell and his wife Helen Lasichanh were among the stars that came out to celebrate @rimowa’s first pop-up concept shop. The space, which is located on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, draws inspiration from airport luggage carousels and lounge areas – and features the company’s luggage and accessories. If the pop-up is successful it could pave the way for addition temporary shops throughout the world. #wwdfashion (📷: Owen Kolasinski/BFA)

This Just In: Industry sources have told WWD that Anastasia Soare is rumored to be considering selling her beauty business, @anastasiabeverlyhills. According to those sources, Soare has tapped investment bank Imperial Capital to explore sale options for her eponymous beauty brand –– and with at least $340 million in net sales, this would be a big deal. Put in context of other recent transactions for makeup companies, Soare’s price tag could be in the billions if she were to sell the whole thing. #wwdnews #wwdbeauty (📷: @clint_spaulding)

In yet another fashion show shuffle, @elleryland is moving its show in sync with the Paris couture calendar — though the brand is still keeping one foot on the city’s ready-to-wear schedule. Their runway show in January will coincide with the launch of a new strategy: designing two main collections each year instead of four, which will then be released in four drops. “As we all know, the system needs to change. We need to show sooner to give time back to artisans and designers to do what they do best — create,” said founder Kym Ellery. #wwdnews #wwdfashion (📷: @kukukuba)
@maxmara’s classic 101801 coat was the cornerstone of its pre-fall 2018 collection. The design team expanded the traditional double-breasted, kimono-sleeved style into a trapeze coat, lean belted styles and a peacoat and presented them in monochromatic looks – like the camel one pictured here. #wwdfashion #prefall18 (📷: George Chinsee)
