ADAM DOES OPRAH: An appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" is apparently worth its weight in gold. Adam Lippes, creative director of adam+eve sportswear and underwear, said his Web site "crashed from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m." following a cameo appearance on Oprah on Thursday.

"We had 50,000 concurrent people looking online following the show," said Lippes, noting Oprah "kept on talking about how she wears my [signature] T-shirts to work, to the gym and out at night. White is her favorite color, but she's now wearing fashion colors, too."

As for the impact on business, Lippes said, "We did 50 percent of our total annual $7 million sales volume in two hours."

Lippes, who formerly served as creative director of Oscar de la Renta, said he's never been easily impressed with the plethora of celebrities he encountered at de la Renta, with the exception of Nicole Kidman.

"Oprah has this aura," he added. "She's so warm and friendly, and so extraordinarily experienced. That's very impressive. Oprah is such a star."

SO SARI: "I nearly moved to India three years ago to pursue a Bollywood career," model-turned-actress Audrey Marnay revealed last Thursday night, doing a twirl in her vintage Indian skirt. "Dance is my thing and I love Indian culture." She was certainly in the right place, as Louis Vuitton feted its new exhibition of contemporary Indian art at its gallery atop its flagship on the Champs-Elysées. But there was plenty of competition at the party, with the likes of Bollywood sex kitten Shilpa Shetty sashaying around in a bejeweled leopard crop top and flashy blue sari. "Hollywood has its own kind of glamor, but Bollywood, for me, is the future," she declared. The event also attracted members of the Indian jet set such as young designer Ameet Sikka as well as Vuitton's own New York-based VIP ambassador, Gayatri Steeg, who wore her mother's wedding sari for the occasion.
