CHANGE OF ADDRESS: Intimate showroom presentations appear to have run their course. While many New York designers scaled back their runway shows in the wake of 9/11, Ralph Lauren is making the move back to big with his Sept. 21 show. After staging his last two collections in the Lauren showroom on Seventh Avenue and at corporate headquarters on Madison Avenue, the designer has booked the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum at 2 East 91st Street for his spring show. While Lauren executives won’t discuss the designer’s plans for the 7 p.m. presentation on the Saturday of Fashion Week — his first evening show in years — it’s likely he’ll make the most of the elegant environment. After all, Lauren is celebrating his 35th anniversary in business.

TOUCHE!: Madonna contributed not only the dance-techno theme song to the upcoming James Bond film, “Die Another Day,” she also offered her services as a swordswoman. She plays a fencing instructor in the film and loved the look so much she brought it to the “Die Another Day” music video filmed in Los Angeles last week. The newly transported designer, Jeremy Scott, did the honors, creating a sexy fencing look for the video.
COMING HOME: Cynthia, say hello to Philippe, Todd and Stephen. It’s been confirmed that Cynthia Rowley will launch a collection of home products in Target Stores called Swell, joining the recent high-profile product launches of Stephen Sprouse, Todd Oldham and Philippe Starck. This confirms a July 10 Fashion Scoop. Details on the line itself are still sketchy, but sources indicated the lifestyle collection will include everything from carpets to comforters and will bow in the spring. Just in time for those recent college graduates who furnished their dorm rooms in Todd Oldham style to fill their first apartments with Cynthia’s Swell.
