CLOTHED OUT: When you’re on a roll, you’re on a roll. Fresh from dressing Katie Couric in a black halter dress for her “Late Show” guest-host appearance last week and having Carrie-Anne Moss wear his dress to the Cannes premiere of “The Matrix: Reloaded” (sorry, Heidi Weisel — Moss was to have worn a Weisel, but apparently changed her mind at the last moment), Marc Bouwer is going after a big fish at the VH1 Divas Duets concert Thursday. The designer canceled a week’s worth of appointments, including one with Saks Fifth Avenue, so that he could ship his entire fall collection to Las Vegas for the review of Whitney Houston. (It was not unsolicited; Bouwer also designed her wedding dress.)
As for Weisel, her camp expects Moss might still arrive in her dress elsewhere.
VERSACE VISION: Versace will be dressing more than celebrities at Cannes this week. AmFAR has tapped the Italian fashion house to oversee the creative direction for its 10th annual Cinema Against AIDS gala fund-raiser at Le Moulin De Mougins Thursday night. Versace has chosen rose and orchid arrangements and will be handling the table settings for more than 500 guests. All linens and china will be provided from the Versace Home Collection, but don’t expect anything too outrageous. Tabletops done in pinks, oranges, greens and light blues seem the perfect complement for the luxe seaside resort, as well as Versace’s spring collection.
Elsewhere at the festival, no one can deny he looks pretty awesome in “The Matrix Reloaded,” but Keanu Reeves is not the same old scruffy Keanu he used to be off-screen. For the Cannes premiere of the movie, he donned a black wool single-breasted peak-lapel tuxedo by Tom Ford for YSL Rive Gauche.
THE ITALIAN JOB: Socialites turned up in droves last Thursday night for the American-Italian Cancer Foundation dinner at Sotheby’s Bid Brasserie. Hosted by Massimo Ferragamo, Tory Burch, Valesca Guerrand Hermès and Eva Lorenzotti, the private dinner featured guests such as Rena Sindi, Lourdes Fanjul, Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia and Samantha Boardman — with her new beau, Aby Rosen, who looks unwittingly like her old beau Graydon Carter.
CUSTO’S CRUISER: Custo Barcelona is putting its signature prints in motion. The company’s designer, Custo Dalmau, has teamed up with Chrysler to design a limited-edition 2004 Custo Barcelona PT Cruiser. With the help of model Esther Canadas, Dalmau was on hand at the Madrid Automobile Show this month, where the car was unveiled. Dalmau adapted his bold graphic designs to customize the exterior and interior of the PT Cruiser. The car will be available by special order beginning in September. A waiting list already extends well into 2004.

BREAKING: Jonathan Saunders is leaving @DVF. The designer has resigned from his position as chief creative officer of Diane von Furstenberg, the company said in a statement on Friday. At the time of his hire, von Furstenberg said Saunders’ arrival symbolized and facilitated her stepping back from the day-to-day duties that occupy the work of a full-time creative director. The British designer joined DVF in May 2016 and was in charge of all product categories. #wwdnews
